mikescott 2010sm About Mike ScottJoin Mike Scott on 99.5 WYCD, weekdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.! Tune in during your lunch hour for Mike’s 12 O’Clock Triple Play! 313-298-1999!

Welcome to my little corner of the world on WYCD.COM!

I can honestly say in 24 years of Radio, WYCD is truly the only place I consider my “home away from home.” I have had the fortunate pleasure to be able to turn my lifelong passion into a profession.

I started my career right here in Detroit in 1982 (my Freshman year in college) at WOMC. After four years there, I moved on to several other Detroit stations including: WNIC, WKQI, the old W4 Country when it was here in the Motor City, WCRZ and WWCK in Flint, as well as WIOG in Saginaw.

While in the Flint/Saginaw market, I acted as Freelance Television Reporter for NBC affiliate WEYI-TV (NBC 25). I continue to act as Freelance Voice Talent for Detroit NBC affiliate WDIV-TV (Local 4), as well as, several area ad agencies.

I have been here at WYCD for the past nine years and counting. In addition to my on-air responsibilities, I also now act as Assistant Program Director-Music Director and work closely with our Program Director on all facets of the sound of this GREAT radio station. God willing, if there is such a thing in Radio, I plan on retiring from here when I’m “old and grey.”

    Hi Mike,
I just wanted to thank you for playing Billy Currington’s latest song, “Let Me Down Easy” after I had called and requested it. I have requested it several (actually many) times and you were the one that actually played it not long after my request. Thanks so much!

This is Rachael from the east side of Detroit. I want backstage passes to the Downtown Hoedown this year in May. I love country music since forever. I went to my first Tim McGraw concert back in spring of 1997. I still have the country sampler from that day. It was called: Viva NasVegas
