It’s the worst flood ever in Middle Tennessee. Roads and interstates were closed because of the storm that moved through the Nashville area, producing more than 15 inches of rain in some areas. This, of course, has affected famous residents as well as every one else who calls Music City home. Many stars are taking to Twitter and Facebook to share their stories, thoughts and prayers with their neighbors.
[photogallerylink id=11044 align=left]Here is what the stars have been saying:
[lastfm]Brad Paisley [/lastfm]joked, “Two giraffes, two elephants and two rhinos walking down the street toward a HUGE boat. Thinking about following them.”
[lastfm]Tim McGraw [/lastfm]and [lastfm]Faith Hill [/lastfm]send this message: “We are very concerned for our town, but are also extremely proud of the selflessness and generosity shown by our wonderful citizens. We truly live in a special community.”
[lastfm]Dierks Bentley[/lastfm], who had to cancel two shows, posted a photo of himself with a bucket bailing water out of his basement, saying, “Hate to cancel shows … might be a first, but Nashville is a disaster. All of our houses are messed up.”

[lastfm]Jo Dee Messina[/lastfm], who was trying to get back to Nashville from Chicago on Sunday, tweeted, “Landed to a flooded Nashville. [Bandmember] Robby’s wife just got pulled from her car in water. Their car is gone, [but] she is safe. Thank God. Trying to get home.”

Many stars like [lastfm]Kenny Chesney [/lastfm]and [lastfm]Lady Antebellum [/lastfm]asked folks to donate to the Red Cross. As of yesterday, water had flooded the lower area of downtown Nashville and was also inching toward the Country Music Hall of Fame. The Opryland Hotel had to evacuate guests due to flooding and The Opry House has also suffered damage. Tonight’s Opry performance will take place at Nashville’s War Memorial Auditorium and weekend performances will move to the historic Ryman Auditorium downtown.
