OH-NO! Starting tomorrow (Thursday, July 15th) at 8 p.m., beware of constuction that will close the ramp leading from eastbound Interstate 696 to eastbound I-94 in St. Clair Shores.
According to the Detroit News, the 90-day closure will force the detour of 29,000 vehicles a day that use the ramp, which is especially busy during the morning and afternoon rush hours.
Michigan Department of Transportation’s closure is part of a $31 million project to rehabilitate the interchange and to resurface I-94 from Eight Mile to 11 Mile roads. The ramp reconstruction is expected to finish in mid-October while the entire project should wrap up in December.
