[lastfm]Brooks & Dunn[/lastfm] performed their final show as a duo on their “Last Rodeo” tour Thursday night at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena. The event, [lastfm]Brooks & Dunn[/lastfm] and Friends, was a benefit concert for the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. The show began with a video spotlighting the duo’s band and crew – most of them whom have been with the duo for two decades. [lastfm]Ronnie Dunn[/lastfm] and [lastfm]Kix Brooks[/lastfm] kicked off the concert with “Play Something Country” and continued to roll from hit to hit including “Ain’t Nothing ‘Bout You,” ‘You’re Gonna Miss Me When I’m Gone,” “Red Dirt Road,” “Believe,” “Neon Moon” and “My Maria.” A couple of highlights included [lastfm]Reba McEntire[/lastfm] joining [lastfm]Brooks & Dunn[/lastfm] on stage to finish “Cowgirls Don’t Cry,” as well as a military salute during “Only In America” that sent confetti flying into the crowd. The encore paired the duo for their final songs – fan favorites “Boot Scootin’ Boogie” and “Brand New Man,” with Brooks tossing his cowboy hat into the audience.
Prior to the show, the guys shared that they intended to go out with a big party and have a cab take them home! With this year marking their 20th anniversary, Ronnie and Kix joked about how time has just flown by.
