A Clemson University researcher believes the ‘burn-out’ rate in young athletes will continue to increase as parents use sports to keep their kids continuously occupied. Too busy isn’t good. There needs to be a healthy break to allow interest in other things besides sports. Too much pressure to perform is creating a burn-out pattern that can be seen in as early as elementary school.
