Last Tuesday, a drunk driver decided it would be okay for him to drive 80 mph, drunk, uninsured, on a suspended license. He ran through a red light and killed Stephanie Stone, and injured both her children, Savanna (pictured above with Mom Stephanie) and Brandon. A bowling fundraiser is being held next Tuesday, November 9th at 6:00 pm at the Town & Country Bowling Alley, on Wayne Rd. in Westland to help her husband and children.
Savanna has been released from the hospital but their step Father, Bill Stone, has been by Brandon’s side at the C.S. Mott’s ICU at the University of Michigan. Brandon suffered severe head injuries and a ruptured diaphragm in the accident.
The man who caused all this pain was arraigned in Washtenaw County on 10 separate felonious counts including second degree murder for taking Stephanie’s life. This was his fourth DUI, and Operating on a Suspended, and was already on probation for felonious assault in a separate case.
Stephanie had no life insurance and the family is now down to just one income, that at the present time is not providing anything due to the fact that Bill has to be at the hospital with Brandon.
A bowling fund-raising benefit has been set up on Tuesday, November 9th at 6:00 pm at the Town & Country Bowling Alley at Wayne and Avondale Roads. We are collecting donations, cash, check or gift cards, as well as sympathy/get well cards. Please find it in your heart, and charity budget to help out Bill Stone and his children.
Any cards or donations can be mailed to or dropped off at Stone Family, c/o Vizzy’s Pizza Palace, 35925 Ford Road, Westland, Michigan, 48185.
