Veteran’s Day is the day our whole country honors all of the brave men and women who serve our country, especially those who gave the ultimate sacrifice fighting for our freedom. [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]James Otto[/lastfm] say’s that his awesome and touching new song, “Soldiers & Jesus“ takes on an even deeper meaning for the former Naval serviceman as he, and numerous other veterans, are honored today.
“I wrote this song with my friend Chris Wallin, and I think it is as powerful as anything I’ve written or been a part of,” James tells The Boot. “The gist of the song is, in fact the chorus says, ‘There’s only two people that died for me / and they laid down their lives just so I could be free / they both went through Hell / beared crosses and shells / both got back up again after they fell / they never picked a fight / but they’re there to pick up the pieces / God only knows where we’d be without Soldiers and Jesus”
I am proud to say, that my Grandfather, Leon Wilber, Father-in law, John Young and my husband Jeff, all served this great country. In honor and in memory of all of our servicemen and women, I dedicate this song to you. May God bless all who are currently serving our country, as I continue to pray that God keeps them safe from harm.
I hope you enjoy this VERY emotional ‘homemade video’ that I found (box of tissue please!), which is set to Jame Otto’s touching tribute: “Soldiers & Jesus”
