In other [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Zac Brown Band[/lastfm] news, tomorrow [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Zac Brown Band[/lastfm] will headline the Coca-Cola NASCAR’S Ford Championship Drive concert, a free performance before Sunday’s big race at Homestead-Miami Speedway. The group’s frontman, Zac Brown, tells The Miami Herald, “I don’t have time to immerse myself in sports since we perform in the afternoons and evenings, but I appreciate NASCAR and the drivers. To be up close and on the track definitely changes your perspective.”
While in Miami, Brown, who is a restaurateur and chef, also wants to try out some new food. He shares, “My whole family knows how to cook. They used to stuff things in jars and sell them. I had the best teachers.” It was Zac’s idea to start Eat and Greets tailgate parties before each ZBB concert, where fans eat a down home meal and hang out with the band. Zac explains, “There’s no good food [at concerts]. They overcharge and it doesn’t come through.”
Brown is looking forward to having some time off in Atlanta for the holidays. After the band’s mini-vacation, they plan to work on a new album. He elaborates, “It’s going to be a collaboration that will feature different artists including a hip-hop artist and an iconic musician.” Although he is mum on which rapper he’ll choose, the band’s website says they’re hoping to work with Atlanta artist [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Cee Lo Green[/lastfm]. Zac adds, “We write music that means something to us. It has substance behind it.”
