[lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Garth Brooks[/lastfm] held a press conference in Nashville yesterday afternoon, prior to playing his first two of nine concerts last night at Music City’s Bridgestone Arena to benefit flood victims in Middle Tennessee. Brooks will play the sold-out shows over the course of six days, marking his first concert appearances in Nashville in over a decade.
All proceeds from the concerts will benefit the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee to help those affected by the May floods in Nashville. Brooks’ nine shows sold over 140,000 tickets and raised over 3.5 million for flood victims. Toys for Tots is collecting unwrapped toys at each concert in the lobby of the Bridgestone Arena. Garth plays one show tonight at 7 PM local time, with the remainder of concerts in Nashville as follows: December 19 (7:30 PM), December 20 (7:30 PM), December 21 (6 PM and 9 PM) and December 22 (6 PM and 9 PM).
