Brad Paisley is one of many names who will turn up at the Academy of Country Music Awards with multiple chances of winning, having been nominated in the categories for Entertainer of the Year and Top Male Vocalist. Trends looks at how his scrobbles have been looking lately to see if it gives us any indication of what Paisley could be winning.

With a total scrobble count of 5,252,488 standing tall with similar artists such as Kenny Chesney (4,838,528 scrobbles) and Toby Keith (3,779,629 scrobbles) it is no wonder that Paisley has seen strong award success, with no less than thirteen wins at the ACM Awards since 1999.

The past two years have proved fruitful for the West Virginian musician, picking up the award for Top Male Vocalist in both 2009 and 2010 – putting him in good stead for the award this year.

The end of 2010 saw the release of Paisley’s latest single “This Is Country Music”, the lead single to the upcoming album of the same name in May 2011. The track has been scrobbled 7,199 times so far and sits at #21 in his latest top weekly tracks chart, a position which is surely set to rise at the turn of the album release.

Alongside the release of new material, Paisley stepped back and reflected with a release of Hits Alive in November, a double-disc greatest hits package that has been scrobbled 21,619 times to date. With the ACM Awards looming, Paisley will be hoping that the voters will still be enamored with his glittering past material.
