train Only If She Would Have Kept Quiet!

Lakeysha Beard should have just kept quiet like her fellow passengers had requested.  Lakeysha was removed from a train and arrested for disorderly conduct.  Her crime?  Talking too loud on the train!

So when did talking become a crime?  I guess when you are on a 16 hour trip from Oakland, California, to Salem, Oregon, and you are talking for the entire trip, in the special “quiet car” of the train.

That is exactly what happened to Ms. Lakeysha.  Non stop for 16 hours, and despite the request to be quite from her fellow passengers, she kept talking and talking, until the train conductors actually stopped the train to have her arrested!

According to, these “quiet cars” have been a part of Amtrak since 2001, when there were many people interested in these cars when taking daily, long trips.  Read more about the whole situation at
