Beating out [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Taylor Swift[/lastfm]’s “Mean” and [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Keith Urban[/lastfm]’s “Without You,” “Honey Bee” just took the number one spot on the charts for [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Blake Shelton[/lastfm]!
With the number one tune on both the Mediabase/Country Aircheck and Billboard country singles charts, Blake is really excited. And Blake knew that getting a chance to perform the tune on the ACM Awards was a good chance for the song to get a jump-start on the charts.
I thought, ‘Man, that’ll be a good shot and maybe it’ll get up the chart a little faster, maybe it won’t take 10 weeks before it debuts on the chart and another 70 for it to go up the chart. The one thing we all agreed on was that ‘Honey Bee’ wouldn’t be that type of song.
While Blake had a feeling the ACM Awards helped out, he has a few other reasonings why it worked out well for him.
