With the new season of Two and a Half Men just a few weeks away, details of the season are slowly being released. While we knew who Ashton Kutcher would be playing, there wasn’t a whole lot of background on the character, until now!
According to Yahoo, in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Jon Cryer, who played Charlie Sheen’s brother Alan on Two and a Half Men, dished about the new season and gave a little background on Ashton’s character, Walden:
“There’s obviously big change in the dynamic with Ashton, in terms of what that creates in my character. I can only say my character ends up being the more romantically experienced one of the two of them,”
Jon was even a bit hesitant on how people would accept the new season, but it seems like he believes the season will be accept by true fans:
Chuck [Lorre] and I were standing around joking about trying to pitch this show and how ridiculous it would sound to a development executive: ‘The guy’s been divorced and his brother just passed away, but he meets this billionaire with a broken heart and…’ It’s like, I would never buy that show,” Cryer said, “But it’s working amazingly well.”
And when it comes to how Charlie will be treated on the show, Jon says that even though he is gone, he will not be forgotten.
“It’s not, ‘Oh, that character’s gone, let’s forget completely about him,'” Cryer said. “There will be ramifications all through the season. We’re not taking this into a new universe where the first show didn’t exist.”
