[photogallerylink id=92487 align=right]Half of the hot country duo, and Downtown Hoedown artist [mp3com-artist]Steel Magnolia[/mp3com-artist]’s Joshua Scott Jones has made an official announcement that he is entering rehab for alcohol and substance abuse. Our thoughts, prayers and support go out to Josh during this time and we are thankful that he has taken the steps toward recovery so we can continue to enjoy the hits of Steel Magnolia.

Josh took to their website tonight (9.29.11) to make this announcement:

God has been on my heart to announce and make public that I have entered a rehabilitation and treatment facility to address issues related to alcohol and substance abuse. Hundreds of thousands of people in the world struggle with these battles daily, therefore I am sincerely grateful for all thoughts and prayers at this very poignant juncture in my life and career. I would also like to thank my family, friends, record label and management team for being so supportive and having an active hand in my recovery process.

Thank you and God bless.

Joshua Scott Jones”

Though Meghan Linsey‘s message a few days prior may have been an indication, their fans may be still be surprised, and hopefully supportive and relieved that Josh is getting help. This is what her message on 9.23.11 reads:

111467653 Steel Magnolias Joshua Scott Jones Enters Rehab“Dear Fans,

We are really sad that we had to cancel several shows this week. We were very much looking forward to seeing each and every one of you in Richmond, IN, Abingdon, VA and Clarence, NY, but at this time, Josh is unable to perform.

We really appreciate your thoughts and prayers. I am going to make every effort to hold up our show commitments starting Sunday night in Durham, CT.

For those of you coming to the show, I can’t wait to see you. Thank you for all the love and support. Love, Meg
