A HUGE tradition of Thanksgiving Day is football. Every year the Detroit Lions (who don’t suck this year!) and Dallas Cowboys each play on the final Thursday of November to a packed crowd hungry for victory and turkey.
But when the games are done and that Tryptophan coma is about to kick in, you need a good movie to keep that football tradition going before you pass out on the couch.

Remember the Titans
Remember the Titans was more than just a movie about football. It was about a community and it’s people coming together, overcoming adversity, and forming a bond that will last a lifetime.
I’m sure there are a few other cliches in there, too.
The Longest Yard
The only way this movie could have been any better is if Burt Reynold’s rocked his awesome ‘stache.
Oh, and Adam Sandler was in the remake.
Funny guy, that Sandler.
The Blind Side
A really touching movie based on the real life of Michael Oher, an offensive lineman who plays for the Baltimore Ravens.
Kind of makes you want to randomly adopt a homeless teenager, doesn’t it?
No? Aaahhh that’s ok.
High school football can be VERY serious in some places, and if you are/were on the team, you know how good life can be.
And “Hero” by [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Foo Fighters[/lastfm] is arguably the most motivating song of all time. Some people may tell you I’m lying, but I once flipped a car over on its side while this song was playing.
I cried during this movie… several times.
That’s right, I said it. And I’m not ashamed!!!
