[photogallerylink id=65880 align=right][mp3com-artist]Miranda Lambert’s [/mp3com-artist]new single, “Over You” is inspired by [mp3com-artist]Blake Shelton’s [/mp3com-artist]late brother Richie Shelton, who died in a car accident in 1990.
The couple got the idea as they were watching TV on a tour bus a year ago and came across Shelton’s biography, and it was the part where his dad was talking about the accident. That had inspired them to write a song inspired by Richie together. Blake told The San Francisco Chronicle, “Miranda never had a chance to meet my brother. I was just a teenager when that happened. So I was telling her about him, what he was like, and we just ended up like we do sometimes, writing a song.” The two admit they had never been that emotional about writing a song before. Miranda said, “We both actually cried while writing the song. That’s the only time I’ve ever gotten that emotional writing a song, and him, too. So, I think the initial emotion came out right that day, and I think you hear it in the lyrics.” The new song appears on Lambert’s new album Four the Record.
