Hi my name is Rob Stone, the latest edition to the 99.5 WYCD family. I couldn’t be more thrilled to be back in Detroit! I grew up in Romeo where I was taught how to work hard and learned what it meant to be proud of who you are and where you come from, whether it was working with my father at the business he built from the ground up, or simply hanging with friends and family at a bonfire. Artists like Kid Rock, Bob Seger, and Lynyrd Skynyrd were always blasting from my stereo, which made music a huge part of my life and my biggest passion.
I attended Michigan State University to pursue a career in music and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Telecommunication, Information Studies and Media in 2008. During my time there, I developed a great interest in radio. My senior year at MSU, I interned at Greater Media Detroit and later returned to Lansing to intern for Citadel Broadcasting. My experience led me to hosting the night show, “Wittle Country Nights with Rob Stone,” on a local Lansing radio station. Since then, country music has been running through my veins and I’m extremely excited to be a part of such a brilliant station here at WYCD!
When I’m not at work you won’t find me doing a whole lot that doesn’t involve music. I love playing guitar, singing karaoke, and even honky tonkin’ down in Nashville. Even while snowboarding in the winter or golfing in the summer, you can bet I’ll be jammin’! I’m looking forward to hanging out with you every weekend. Give me a holler from 11am-3pm.
YEE HAW!! GIDDY UP!!!
