We’ve listed the Top 10 Most Anticipated Movies of 2012, nine of which are action movies!  From trilogies like Men In Black III and The Dark Knight Rises to new ones like Hunger Games and The Avengers, this year doesn’t seem to disappoint in great blockbuster action films that are worth the $10 movie ticket.  See our list and trailers for each movie flick here.

Thanks to  Willy J at our sister station WPEG in Charlotte for contributing to this post!

The Dark Knight Rises

How will the Batman trilogy end?  Bruce Wayne seems to be in big trouble as Bane comes to town wrecking havoc on Gotham City, and will Catwoman be good or bad in this film.  Either way, it will be sad to see Christian Bale and Director Christopher Nolan leave the series.

The Hunger Games

Based off of Suzanne Collins trilogy of books, The Hunger Games is the first part of the series where the main character, Katniss Everdeen, is picked to fight in an annual televised game in post-apocalyptic America.  Parts of the film were filmed in Charlotte and Hickory as well! The Avengers

Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, The Hulk, and a slew of other Marvel characters are joining forces to fight evil in our country.  It will be great to see all of these characters finally together and banter amongst themselves.

Men In Black 3

Will Smith is suited up and ready to take on some more bad aliens with his tux and comedic humor.  But, the movie goes back in time so hopefully the plot line will not get too confusing.

Rock Of Ages

Based on the hit Broadway play, a bunch of big actors sing and dance to hit rock music…and it’ll be funny to see Tom Cruise as a rock legend!

Ridley Scott, director of Aliens, is back to give us another huge sci-fi thriller to keep us jumping in our seats.

The Amazing Spiderman

The Spiderman franchise is rebooted to give another younger audience the thrill of seeing Spidey swing around New York City saving the day.

G.I. Joe: Retaliation

The Rock joins the cast to take down Cobra and risk their lives to save America.

Wrath Of The Titans

The hit movie Clash of the Titans made filmakers go ahead with a sequel that doesn’t seem to disappoint in action sequences between gods and monsters.
