I know it’s not country music, but the Beastie Boys were a part of the lives of a ton of people. In 2009, it was reported that Adam Yauch, aka MCA, had cancer.  Earlier today, Adam passed away at the age of 47 from salivary gland cancer.  I know that MCA and the Beastie Boys were a HUGE part of my life, so how did they affect your life?

The passing away of MCA is a huge blow to the music world.  The Beastie Boys may not have put out an album for the past few years, but they still make an impact.  And according to newyork.cbslocal.com, when the Beasties were inducted into the Rock and Roll hall of fame last month, MCA did not attend due to poor health.

“Beastie Boys regret that Adam ‘MCA’ Yauch will be unable to join Mike ‘Mike D’ Diamond and Adam ‘Adrock’ Horovitz at the band’s induction into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame in April. Mike, Adam and Adam are truly grateful for the honor but with only two of the three Beastie Boys attending, they will unfortunately not be able to perform at the ceremony.”
