Prom is supposed to be a special time in many high schoolers lives.  A night they will spend with their best friends and will remember forever.  Michigan’s own Diane McNease wanted more than just memories that are similar to her friends’ memories.  She decided to spend over a year and a half collecting wrappers from Starburst candies so she could make the sweetest prom dress!  Check out her dress!

According to Yahoo, it took over 18,000 Starburst wrappers to make this dress, and while she didn’t eat ALL of the candies her self, she still had fun making it!

She said she actually got the idea when an exchange student was using wrappers from the candy to make bracelets.  And even though this was a time consuming project, she says it was well worth it!

“It was kind of a dare,” she tells Shine. “Someone said I couldn’t do it. That’s the last thing you should say to me.” She says DeWitt encouraged her through the whole process.
