I am probably one of the most accident prone people on earth. I always have some sort of running injury, which is a running joke with my family too! But it appears I am certainly not alone. Each year, the average person suffers from 124 injury and sickness-related incidents, according to a new survey. Over a 78-year lifespan, that means you can expect 9,672 ailments, which can range from cuts, heartburn, stubbed toes, and cramps to surgical procedures. So maybe I am just ‘average’ after all!
According to these numbers, if you do the math, this means that the average person experiences some sort of malady almost every three days. That is probably right on track with my personal injury record!
Just last week, I was walking to my car after work in platform sandals and not really paying attention and I wiped out in the parking lot. I twisted my ankle and fell so hard all the stuff I was carrying at the time went flying in all directions, and I was literally stunned and took me about a minute before I could even stand up. My ankle still hurts, but I am not complaining. Soon as this heals I will be ‘due’ for another injury!
Who do you know that is accident prone like me?
