The other day, a video hit the web of middle school kids tormenting the bus monitor, 68 year old Karen Klein. Karen had been at this for over 20 years, and just one day, the kids would not leave her alone. The video is over 10 minutes long and is one of the MOST graphic things I have ever seen. And the craziest part is, the people harassing Karen were in MIDDLE SCHOOL! After the video went viral, people started to raise money for Karen, but what did the bullies do?
According to Yahoo, over $500,000 has been raised in Karen’s name after the video of her being bullied on the job was released on the internet. And when one of Karen’s supporters asked why they were raising money, they had this to say:
“Bullies,” he told the Los Angeles Times. “That’s the real reason. People want to stand up for the little guy, and everybody just forwarded it. I just had a good idea, and everybody else took it and ran with it.”
But what did the kids have to say about all of this? Nothing actually, because they and their families have gone into hiding! They have been receiving death threats over what they said to Karen! The police have obviously gotten involved, even though Karen isn’t pressing charges.
“We have a cellphone of one of the boys, and he’s received more than 1,000 missed calls and more than 1,000 text messages threatening him,” Capt. Steve Chatteron said. “Threats to overcome threats do no good.”
