I thought Cinco De Mayo was the only holiday where we have an excuse to drink excessive amounts of tequila, but that’s not the case. Today is National Tequila Day! With temperatures close to 90 degrees again today, it makes sense to celebrate the liquor that’s made from the agave cactus, which is native to Mexico. Tequila was first created when the 16th century Spanish conquistadors in Mexico ran out of brandy. They decided to distill the agave to make a new liquor and it was all history from there. Thank you Spanish conquistadors for making the drink that not only makes our clothes fall off, but makes us crazy too!
