With the 2012 Olympic Games in London getting ready to kickoff, The Dr. Don Show with Rachael and Grunwald talk with Plymouth Native and NBC Universal Sports Correspondent, Nick Gismondi keeping us up to date with what’s happening in London.

Nick talks to us about the preparation that London has put into the games, saying, “A lot of things have to fall in place for London. They’ve thrown a lot into this, $42 million to be exact and of course the bar was set real high during the Beijing Games. The U.K. they’ve thrown everything into this, they brought in director Danny Boyle of Slumdog Millionare fame, it’s gonna be pretty amazing.”

One of the complaints from the last games by the athletes, was that it took too long for the opening ceremonies. Nick says that is not the case this year. “It was gonna run well past midnight London time and of course the competition gets started big time on Saturday, so they pulled in back quite a bit.” Grunwald says that one of the most important things of the games is how hot the women are. Nick agrees saying, “The thing about the Olympics is, it’s like the most attractive, in shape, amazing people on the planet all together in one place. That might be one the reasons why they put 150,000 prophylactics in Olympic Village.”

One of the cool things in London, is a Detroit Bar. Yes, a bar all about the Motor City. Nick says that he will going to the bar and will buy us all a shirt. Grunwald says to keep it like Detroit and steal us some shirts. Nick says, “If I do that, you guys are gonna get me outta jail right?” Good thing for him the police, or ‘Bobbies,’ do not carry guns so he has a chance to maybe out run them. We will be checking in with Nick throughout the games and you can only hear him right here on WYCD!
