Researchers at the University of Kansas discovered that if you were told to hold a facial position similar to smiling – whether you knew you were supposed to be grinning or not – you will have a lower heart rate after a stressful situation. Experts say that it’s almost impossible to be really angry or really stressed with a smile on your face. Try this little experiment and see what happens…

Just look directly at every person that you walk by and smile right at them! Almost everyone will smile right back at you, and usually say hello too! We are so busy these days, rushing around trying to get all our ‘stuff’ done that we rarely really look and acknowledge strangers that we pass by while running errands or shopping. It really is amazing how much happier you will feel by just smiling and saying hello to everyone you encounter! You can turn a ‘bad day’ completely around by doing this too. You ‘get what you give’ and when you spread sunshine and smiles to others, you will get it right back!
