He drives a Ford F-150 but Jason Aldean says he doesn’t mind what other people drive as “long as it was built here, built in the USA!”

While at a tour stop in Detroit recently, Aldean took time backstage to talk with 99.5 WYCD about what’s coming up in the near future and gave us a little insight to his past.

The “My Kinda Party” singer is gearing up for his next album, Night Train, available October 16th, and the first single released from that album, “Take A Little Ride” has already experienced huge chart success!  During Jason Aldean’s recent Live On Letterman performance, he debuted some new songs from Night Train.

When asked what’s coming after that, it was pretty clear, “we have about a month left of the tour, then it’s huntin’ season!” Guess a guy needs to feed his family!

Jason and wife Jessica have two daughters, Keeley, 9 and Kendyl, 4. Though mom, Jessica spends the most time with the girls while dad is out on tour, he did admit when it comes to some parenting responsibilities, he gets to be the frontman. He took each of the girls to get their ears pierced years ago, when they were babies, as he tells us “I guess she [Jessica] doesn’t like to see them in pain.” Wonder who gets to take them to get shots?

Speaking of pain, since Aldean is rarely seen without his cowboy hat, you won’t have much opportunity to notice the scar that starts at his hairline and goes back a couple inches, which as he likes to tell, is from getting hit with a “beer bottle.” “The story sounds better.” But the truth is that he got that scar from a childhood accident involving a cousin (who happened to be present at this interview), ‘accidentally’ tripping him as they were playing together. Agreed. Stick with the beer bottle story!

We have always found Jason Aldean to have a few interesting stories up his sleeve.  Recently, his tour was in the same town as the Washington Nationals baseball team was playing, and – on the same night.  Apparently they “rushed the games” so they wouldn’t miss Aldean’s show.  He tells us he is friends with some of the guys on the team, and the real story is that it was “the bottom of the 9th and a rain delay lasted 2 1/2 hours, but they ended up getting there.” Fans in the crowd at an Aldean show can rest easy, when asked if he would’ve started his show late so the Nationals could get there, he laughingly gave an adamant “no, I like them, but not that much!’
