As accustomed as they are to the difficult sights they see every day, the investigators from the Michigan Humane Society were still shocked at the condition Julie was in when they found her,  abandoned in Ecorse. Julie had been kept confined for weeks without any food and with minimal water.  When a kind passerby found this sweet 5-year-old American Bulldog mix and brought her to the MHS Detroit Center for Animal Care, the situation was dire. But thanks to the TLC she received at the Michigan Humane Society, Julie’s story has a HAPPY ENDING! There are thousands of animals like Julie who need our help, and you can do your part by supporting Team WYCD on Sunday October 7th at the Mega March For Animals at Kensington Metropark! Read how Julie went from near death, to well enough to be adopted into a loving ‘forever home’….

Julie was suffering from one of the worst cases of emaciation that the MHS had seen.  Every bone on her body was visible. In fact, it was amazing that she was even walking.   One MHS staff member remarked that if it had taken a day longer for Julie to come to MHS, she very likely wouldn’t have survived. But Julie is a fighter. Her recovery was slow and painful, but after recovering in foster care with one of MHS In-Home Heroes, Julie was finally well enough to find her forever home. She went from homeless to loved when she was adopted by her foster family!

Your generous support will help the Michigan Humane Society provide shelter, nourishing meals and veterinary care for animals like Julie.

Help keep the MHS cruelty and rescue teams out on the road, and help thousands of wonderful animals find their forever homes. See the MHS rescue team in action as the rescue this adorable kittten “Rudy” who was trapped in a drain pipe and would have died had she not been rescued by the MHS!

You can join Team WYCD or make a donation right here and make a difference for animals like Julie and Rudy!
