Several lucky WYCD listeners won the opportunity to have lunch with Hunter Hayes this past weekend, a prequel to his concert Sunday night with Carrie Underwood at The Palace.
I was lucky enough to host the lunch with Hunter. He entertained the intimate crowd by performing his top selling hits and crowd favorites “Wanted,” “Storm Warning” and “Somebody’s Heartbreak” at The Venue in Auburn Hills.
In between songs, we had the chance to ask Hunter some questions, so I asked him what he did over the Thanksgiving holiday. Hunter said that even though he is so busy on his tour with Carrie Underwood, he was excited to be able to make it home to his family in Louisiana for “37 hours” for Thanksgiving! While Hunter made up his mind he wasn’t going to gorge himself when he sat down to eat his Thanksgiving meal, he ended up completely pigging out. When I asked him what his favorite side dish was, he replied, “green been casserole.” He added, he’s just acquired a taste for green bean casserole. over the past few years and now it’s his favorite!
When Hunter was asked what his hobbies are, other than music, he said he really doesn’t have anything else in his life other than music. He lives and breathes music 24/7! Hunter also joked that he’s not sure where his musical talent came from because he’s not from a musically inclined family, but that music is all he’s wanted to do since he was as young as he can remember!
