The 70th annual Golden Globe nominations were revealed this week, and in one category, two country music superstars competing head-to-head for the award.

Keith Urban’s “For You” from the military movie Act of Valor was nominated in the Best Original Song: Motion Picture along with “Safe & Sound” from The Hunger Games. The latter features Taylor Swift in conjunction with country-folk duo the Civil Wars, and it was produced (and cowritten) by GRAMMY-winning mastermind T-Bone Burnett (O Brother Where Art Thou?Crazy Heart, TV’s Nashville).

Additional nominees in the category include Jon Bon Jovi‘s song “Not Running Anymore,” which appears in the movie The Stand-Up Guys; the song “Suddenly” from Les Miserables, written by Claude-Michel Schonberg, Herbert Kretzmer, and Alain Boublil and performed by Hugh Jackman.

And finally, of course, there’s the theme song to the latest James Bond film Skyfall sung by none other than Adele.

Jessica Alba, Megan Fox, and Ed Helms were on-hand to announce the Golden Globe nominees. The award ceremony will take place January 13 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, Calif., and it will be hosted by Tiny Fey and Amy Poehler.

See the Golden Globes website for more info on the award nominations.

Who do you think has the upper hand in the song category?
