“I am woman, hear me ROAR,” took on a whole new meaning over the weekend, when racer Danica Patrick made history by becoming the first woman in Nascar history to win the Daytona 500 pole. She will start in the front for the Great American Race on Sunday. While the race world is making a fuss about her new record, Danica says “she was brought up to be the fastest driver, not the fastest girl.”
Do you think accomplishments should be celebrated based on gender? Patrick obviously does not think so! Danica tells Yahoo News:
“I think when pressure’s on and when the spotlight’s on, I feel like it ultimately ends up becoming some of my better moments and my better races and better results. I just understand that if you put the hard work in before you go out there that you can have a little peace and a little peace of mind knowing that you’ve done everything you can and just let it happen.”
Miranda Lambert gives Danica Patrick props in her video for “Fastest Girl In Town”…with Danica behind the wheel they give a guy a run for his money AND his car! LOVE this video!
Let’s give props to all the ladies who achieve success in a ‘man’s world! Tell us about the ‘girl’ you know, who beat all the guys doing something awesome!
