WYCD Hoedown 2018 ANNOUNCED: Dierks Is Coming! Details | LineupTickets | 2017 Recap

Most people have third molars (or wisdom teeth) removed as a teenager, but not our own workday wisecracker, Jack Shell. Jack waited until his mid-late thirties to have such work done. What you don’t know, is that behind Jack’s cool, smooth sound on the air, off the air, he’s neurotic enough to make Woody Allen nervous. For weeks, Jack’s been dreading having these wisdom teeth removed, that he chickened out in the dental chair the day it was originally supposed to happen, and had to reschedule the procedure with an oral surgeon and the threat of having to undergo anesthesia only make him even more intolerable to work with behind the scenes until the procedure was completed this past Friday. Thanks to the magic of smartphone cameras and Jack’s oh so tolerant and patient wife, Karen, Jack made it through the ordeal, and will be back on your radio to make your workday fly by with a song and a smile Monday. Speaking of smiling, the videos below will certainly do that. See Jack Shell as you’ve never seen him before courtesy of dental sedation drugs, and Karen’s quick thinking to capture the moment. As Jack says, you’ll “thank (him) later.”

Special thanks to Dr. Leslie Orzech DMD of Summit Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery in Warren and their professional and relaxed staff for making this procedure easy on him.

Here’s Jack immediately after leaving the surgery center.

Jack, at home, loving the 50°F weather and sunshine… that of course is what’s making him dance around like a fool.

Just before Karen drove Jack safely to their Royal Oak residence, a stop at a local ice cream store was made for “lunch”, as solid foods are simply NOT an option.  Nothing like an Oberweis chocolate shake for lunch!

Shortly there after, he crashed… then woke up in excruciating pain as seen here:

It even hurt to eat applesauce.

Thankfully it was Xfinity Watchathon Week on Comcast, which you’ve heard Jack talk about on the radio for weeks now, so he downloaded one of his favorite 80s movies and laughed himself silly as he recovered throughout the day.  The Vicodin prescription also helped.  Can YOU quote The Breakfast Club like Jack can?
