A very special movie is being shown tonight at the AMC Livonia 20 theater, where you can learn more about how you can help millions of kids who are currently “Stuck” in orphanages. The movie “Stuck” is a documentary that is bringing attention to the plight of over 10 million kids who are currently ‘stuck’ in limbo in orphanages around the world. The saddest part is that there are families here in the US who love these kids and they too have been ‘stuck’ in a never-ending process of paperwork and heartache for years and years while waiting for these adoptions to be approved.
For childless couples who have spent thousands of dollars, and have been trying and waiting years to adopt these children and bring them home to the US, the sad facts are staggering.
-Average amount of time for the process is 896 days.
-Average cost is $28, 000.
-There are about 10million children worldwide in orphanages.
-For every month spent in an orphanage a child looses about a month of linear growth.
-Without the affection and interaction given by an adult when a child is in the infant stage it’s a fact that their brains do not develop properly and are smaller.
Here is the movie trailer for “Stuck,” which is narrated by Law and Order: Special Victims Unit leading lady, Mariska Hargitay.
You can learn more and find out how you can join the fight to help these kids by attending the movie tonight in Livonia.
