Jason’s Aldean’s “1994” is nearing the Top Ten on the country charts this week. The song is different for Aldean who doesn’t do many “ditty” songs, but he just had to record it because it reminded him so much of his early club days when he played many a Joe Diffie tune on stage back in 1994.
Aldean says, “Joe Diffie was a big star then; you know and still one of the best vocalists country music’s seen in a long time. So, it’s just kind of a quirky little fun kind of song. And for people that, you know, maybe some younger fans that don’t really know who Joe Diffie is, you know, maybe it’ll kind of perk their interest enough to go and buy some of those old records and kind of see what they’re all about ’cause they’re pretty good.”
If you have not checked out the video yet, here it is. Special guest appearances by Luke Bryan, Jake Owen, Little Big Town, the cast of Nashville, Dierks Bentley and more. It’s a really fun video. Enjoy.
