Brad Paisley already made major headlines collaborating with rapper LL Cool J on his latest ‘Wheelhouse’ record with a song called ‘Accidental Racist’. Many diehard country music fans hate the mixing of genres, but in my opinion, I think it’s great! If it is done right that is. Country music is currently my favorite genre, but I grew up on classic rock, Motown, rock and everything in between, so when I make music all those genres are bound to mash together to create a new unique sound.

Collaborations are normally a good thing, but I can’t say I agree with Brad Paisley’s thoughts of working with Kanye West. Yes it is true. The rapper who rudely interrupted Taylor Swift at the 2009 Video Music Awards was a candidate for Paisley when considering who to work with. Brad told Country 925 he was interested in working with the controversial star saying, “I toyed with approaching Kanye with something, but I don’t know if our camp would go for that,” Paisley said, laughing. “Our format… might still be mad at him, I don’t know.”

Kanye caused a huge uproar in the country music community after that event and fans as well as many artists stood up for Taylor. We’ll just have to wait to see if this thought of Brad’s comes to fruition. Now the question is, has the country music community and Taylor Swift gotten over the Kanye incident or are we still upset?

Here’s a look back at Kanye’s interruption with Taylor..
