ComedySportz is improvisational comedy played as a sport in many cities nationwide, and in the UK, by members of the World Comedy League. Two teams battle for laughs and points as they make up scenes, games and songs on the spot.  It’s the only entertainment that’s funny enough for bachelor parties and clean enough for your church or business group. And now, ComedySportz is coming to Detroit!

Jason Sudakis (SNL, Horrible Bosses, Second City) Nick Swardson (That’s My Boy, Bucky Larson)  Wayne Brady (Whose Line Is It Anyway) Frank Caeti (Mad TV) Jeff Davis (Whose Line Is It Anyway) and many more working actors got their start at ComedySportz. Now it’s your turn.The world famous comedy franchise ComedySportz announces its new partnership with Michigan Actors Studio and will be located in downtown Ferndale.

The interactive improv group will operate a training center and feature weekly shows on the Michigan Actors Studio stage. In addition to training and performances the group will also have a touring company and a business focused corporate comedy division for team building, creative training and customized shows.

Michigan Actors Studio producer, Rachel Bellack, said “We are ecstatic to be partnering with ComedySportz especially because it provides an outlet for live comedy that is truly family- friendly.”
Open auditions for ComedySportz Detroit will be held on May 31 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday June 1 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Anyone wishing to tryout can register online at Live shows will begin in September.
All shows and training will be held at the Michigan Actors Studio Complex, located just east of Woodward at 648 East 9 Mile Road in Ferndale.
