The McMillans are like a lot of families — married, with two kids, a boy and a girl — with one notable exception: They live every day like it’s 1986. The McMillans have given up all technology that was introduced to the world after 1986. How long do you honestly think you and your family could go without any current technology?

That means no iPhones, DVDs, Xboxes, Instagrams, or cable.

They use a real bank, read books, and even took a family road trip this summer and navigated using paper maps. Have your kids ever even been to a real library? Do the kids know how to read a paper map?

The McMillans chose 1986 because that was the year both their kids were born. Could you even fathom doing this?

What one piece of technology do you wish your kids were never introduced to?
