What an amazing concert at The Palace of Auburn Hils this past Saturday night! Blake Shelton is undoubtedly country music’s greatest and most underrated male vocalist, witty, engaging, a gifted performer and entertainer and probably my industry’s greatest ambassador. Blake performed a catalog of songs representing a solid decade of work which has made him the artist he is today, and not one person in the arena had anything short of a great time. Blake sings his tail off, while swillin’ vodka from a plastic cup, delivers flawless, soulful vocals, and his good time, rowdy persona shines through as he interacts with fans from the stage and has the whole arena hanging on his every hilarious word. I’d list last night’s performance as one of the ten greatest I’ve ever seen, and I’ve been to hundreds of concerts. If you have never seen Blake Shelton live, go to his show. If you’ve never been to a country music concert, let Blake Shelton be your gateway drug.
