It is Thursday and we’ve decided to do a throwback on Taylor Swift! Before she was headlining world tours, selling out arenas and stadiums in minutes; she was just a 16 year old girl singing the Star Spangled Banner during the Detroit Lions game in November of 2006.

Her first album had been released a month earlier in October. In the United States, the album rose to number five on the Billboard 200, topped the Top Country Albums Chart for twenty-four non-consecutive weeks, and was certified five times platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America.

Now Taylor is embarking on the second and third leg of her Red Tour. The second leg takes her to New Zealand and Australia between November and December of 2013. She’ll head to London during the third leg of the tour in February 2014 and play the O2 Arena.

She’ll also hit the big screen once again. Billboard has confirmed that the singer has been cast as a supporting role in a film adaptation to the 1993 novel The Giver, due to hit theaters in August 2014. You can read more about her role, here
