The marriage of a one-time Hollywood power couple is reportedly finally, officially, over. Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore have signed the paperwork to finalize their divorce. The legal proceeding was years in the making: although they split in November 2011. Why does a divorce when there are no children involved take so long? Is it really just money!
35-year-old Two and a Half Men star Kutcher, filed for divorce in late 2012 and his 50-year-old ex Demi followed suit in March.
According to The Post, at issue in their “bruising battle” was money — lots of it. “There had been lengthy negotiations between lawyers for both sides about the financial settlement,” said a source, “in particular, how much he owed her from their marriage.’
The fact that Ashton moved on to another serious relationship with the beautiful and much younger actress Mila Kunis most likely fanned the flames too. A scorned ex who is upset when their ex quickly moves on is a hard pill to swallow. I could be wrong, but my gut tells me that Moore did not want to formally dissolve the marriage ‘too quickly,’ after photos of Kutcher & Kunis were plastered on every rag magazine in town following her split with Ashton.
How long did it take to finalize your divorce, in what seemed like the longest divorce proceeding ever?
