Eric Paslay is no stranger to the country charts, having penned such hits as Jake Owen‘s “Barefoot Blue Jean Night,” Eli Young Band‘s “Even If It Breaks Your Heart” and Love And Theft‘s “Angel Eyes.” Now, however, he’s got his first bona fide hit as both the writer and the artist with “Friday Night.”
It was on Friday nights back in his native Texas that Eric caught the music bug. He tells The Dr. Don Show with Rachael and Grunwald, “My favorite thing to do on a Friday night – growing up in Texas, there are dancehalls everywhere. That was the coolest thing growing up was going to dancehalls, because it was everyone from grandparents to their grandkids hanging out, and always good live music and pretty girls to ask to dance and hopefully, they say yes, you know. When I think of the great memories on Friday nights back home and growing up and what I do now, it always has to do with music and dancing and having a good time and some good beverages, and usually it’s on Friday night.”
“Friday Night” is from Eric’s upcoming album, due out next year. Eric was also just in town with the Eli Young Band and the Soundboard. Check out the PHOTOS.
