Sometimes it seems no matter how hard I try, the weight doesn’t come off as easy as it used to. And after reading an article about snacking while trying to lose weight, it looks like I’ve taken the “eating healthier” strategy in the wrong direction. There are things that we might think is healthy, but isn’t really.
According to Yahoo.com, there are a few snacks out there that we think are going to help us lose weight, but actually make it harder! First is yogurt. Many of us go with the low-fat fruit flavored yogurt. According to Yahoo, we should be going with plain Greek yogurt with fresh fruit in it instead! The saying goes, even though it’s fat-free, doesn’t make it calorie free! The low-fat fruit yogurts are packed with sugar! The plain yogurt has dramatically lower sugar.
One of my favorites is pretzels. I thought that having just a few wouldn’t be too bad for me and help curb my appetite. The study shows that pistachios are actually better for you. They say all the extra sodium in the pretzels isn’t good for your body. And while the pistachios have more calories, they have a lot more protein, and help with curbing appetite better than pretzels!
Instead of drinking diet soda, we should be drinking carbonated water with a little fruit added. And if you thought rice cakes were good for you, air popped popcorn is actually better! For more help with healthy snacking, click HERE!
