Eric Church has a new album out called The Outsiders. When he talked with The Dr. Don Show with Rachael and Grunwald we asked now that the album is out, what will he do for Valentine’s Day? Eric says sarcastically, “That’s this week?” After a slight chuckle he says that with this week being busy with the release of the album, the romantic holiday will be spent with his wife Catherine and son Boone.

Eric spent all of his time writing the same way he has done it for his previous two albums, up in the mountains in his absolutely beautiful cabin. Featured on CBS Sunday Morning a week ago, Eric tells us about the very secluded spot to write his music. “It’s a fun place and a special place.” When asked what he wishes he had at the cabin, Eric says, “A Snowmobile. You would think being in North Carolina, you wouldn’t have to deal with snow.” He continues, “Being 5,000 above sea level, when it snows, it snows. We had 84 inches this past March.”

Being in the middle of the 2014 Winter Olympic Games, we asked Eric what event, sports aside, would he win the gold medal in? Eric thought for a second then said, “I don’t know, those Russian cats can drink vodka. I would say drinking, but I’ve seen them drink vodka. I think I could podium on that one, bronze for sure.”
