Tim McGraw isn’t wasting time in the new year. He has announced a new tour and already has new music out. Lookin’ For That Girl is his latest single and the new music video has a very James Bond feel to it.
McGraw tweeted the video and thanked the director of the video, Sophie Miller, for helping create the video.
Visually, it’s a pretty trippy ride. McGraw must have been inspired by the lyrics in his song, which include references to “strawberry wine,” “Neon Jager bombs” and a “day glow, radio slow ride.” The video’s candy-colored imagery includes rows of dancing females who appear to be haunting and taunting McGraw’s dreams, paired with scenes of cars, buildings and empty western roads, as McGraw sings about “spending every night looking for that girl.”
The song was written by Jimmy Slater, Chris Tompkins, and Mark Irwin, and it’s on iTunes now.
“This last year was unbelievable, and I don’t have any plans to let off the gas now,” McGraw said in a press statement. “We didn’t want to waste any time getting new music out. With every album, my approach is to push a few of my own boundaries and try things I’ve never done before. It was hard to choose a lead single off this project because I really felt like we had six or seven good options. I kept coming back to ‘That Girl’ because even though it may be a little different for me sonically, I couldn’t get it out of my head!”
