Gary LeVox from Rascal Flatts talks with The Dr. Don Show with Rachael and Grunwald to clear up exactly what happened at the ACM Awards when they fell victim to a bad lip-syncing  performance on national TV. Gary explains, “We flew in there (Las Vegas) Friday. We did a 2 hour concert for Out Number Hunger, the charity event. We did 7 hours of radio (tours) and then we did a 2 hour concert for Dr. Pepper the night before. In the desert, it’s so hard to sing, but at that point there is nothing we can do. They said they had the track and to give it a shot, I said man, I’m not even good at doing videos so this should be good.”

Gary also goes on to talk about the time they tried to pull a prank on Darius Rucker while he was out on tour with them. “We thought we had him nailed. He was on stage and we had 30 or 40 farm animals brought in and put in his dressing room. Well, by the time he was done, the goats had eaten every piece of furniture in the room. It was a $15,000 joke that went south!”

Before we wrapped up with Gary, he thanks us for everything and says that Detroit holds a special place in his heart. “Being an Ohio boy, just growing up down the street, Detroit holds a special place in my heart. Even though I’m a Buckeye, we have the greatest rivalry in college football and we all mid-westerners and we always got each others back.”
