The new Lee Ann Womack video, for single “The Way I’m Livin’,” starts out simply enough as a couple arrives to their beat-up country home with seeming heavy hearts, comforted by each other’s presence. Then, things get weird.

The pair breaks into an evocative dance within the house, moving like they are trying to conjure mysterious forces to bring rain or something, like something you’d see on HBO’s True Blood. This dark magic is underscored by the introduction of a wardrobe change of black leather and some rather large snakes. The clip serves to highlight Womack’s lyrics, which proclaim “if I ever get to heaven it’s a doggone shame.”
