HBO’s True Detective has gone country with a little help from Clay Walker! Music supervisor T Bone Burnett tapped Clay to record a song for the upcoming second season.

Clay Walker says the experience marked a first in his career. “We recorded in a way that I had never experienced. We kind of went back in time to like the ‘40s and ‘50s where you recorded live with everyone in the room. I’d never done that in my entire recording career. People will hear this song on True Detective, which I think is fantastic.”

True Detective just added two new cast members. Newcomer Adria Arjona and True Blood’s Riley Smith have joined the cast. The second season follows three police officers played by Colin Farrell, Tayler Kitsch and Rachel McAdams, and a career criminal (Vince Vaughn), who must navigate a web of conspiracy in the aftermath of a murder.
