President and CEO of Big Machine Records, Scott Borchetta joins The Dr. Don Show with Rachael and Grunwald to talk about the past couple of weeks of American Idol in Detroit. Scott says that Detroit has been nothing but welcoming to the crew, contestants and judges of the show.

On the Big Machine label, A Thousand Horses is playing the Downtown Hoedown and Scott tells us that the buzz around A Thousand Horses is similar to another giant group signed to the Big Machine label… Florida Georgia Line!

Rachael Hunter asks Scott about what it takes to get discovered. Scott is responsible for discovering Taylor Swift and he says, “You have to have thick skin. You also have to have a creative vision for your music.”

The Top 8 Men and the Top 8 Women have been selected for American Idol as they head back to L.A. to finish out the season. We will be talking with Scott Borchetta on a weekly basis as he breaks down the contestants as we find out who will be the next American Idol.
