Thompson Square are all revved up on their new single “Trans Am.”

The debut single off their forthcoming third album showcases the married duo like we’ve never heard before. Full of gritty edge and plenty of electric guitars, Shawna and Keifer Thompson sing of much more than taking a ride in a Trans Am.

The song was premiered via Rolling Stone Country.

Co-written by the duo as well as Blair Daly and Nathan Chapman, Keifer told Rolling Stone Country the song came together effortlessly.

“Blair Daly had the title and we all jumped on it,” Keifer said. “I’ve wanted that car ever since I can remember, especially after I saw Smokey and the Bandit, of course. We both love American muscle cars and that’s, without a doubt, one of the most identifiable representations of American muscle.”
