We’re either guilty of it or we have a friend or family member who is guilty of oversharing photos of our children on social media. The pictures may be cute but may also be dangerous in the long run…

While there is nothing wrong with sharing pics of your kids with your REAL friends and family, you need to remember that ‘the person you went to high school with, whom you have not had any contact with outside of social media since graduation,’ is not necessarily your REAL friend.



And remember too, that ALL the pics you share can potentially ‘live forever’ on the internet. Bathtub shots are cute, but probably not a good idea to post those on the internet at all.

Top tips for safer sharing include:

Know your privacy settings
Only share with people who care
Explore private social networks
Private social networks offer a secure way to share the pictures of your children with your family and friends.
