Jake Owen is certainly enjoying his summer, between his latest feel-good release, “Real Life,” and being on the road with Kenny Chesney’s outing, “The Big Revival Tour.” So it seemed like a no-brainer for USAToday.com to ask Jake to share with them his favorite summertime tunes, to help fans kick off their long holiday weekend.

In addition to his current single, Real Life” which he says he “recorded specifically for my summer time mix – and yours,” Jake’s favorite tunes include: Don McLean’sAmerican Pie,” Bruce Springsteein’sBorn in the U.S.A.,”Creedence Clearwater Revival’sBad Moon RisingLynyrd Skynyrd’sSweet Home Alabama,” Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers’American Girl,” Jackson Brown’sRunning on Empty,” Lenny Kravitz’American Woman,” John Mellencamp’sJack and Diane,” and Kenny Loggins’Danger Zone.” Okay, that last one doesn’t quite fit…but it is fun!
